Chi-Yen Shen is currently a full professor of Electrical Engineering at I-Shou University (ISU). She is also serving as dean of the Office of Institutional Research and dean of the Office of Library & Information Services. She earned her BS degree in Electrical Engineering at the National Cheng-Kung University in 1987, and her PhD in Electrical Engineering at the National Sun Yat-Sen University in 1991. Previously, she was chairperson of the Electrical Engineering Department (1993-1996), director of the General Education Center (2003-2006), and dean of the R&D Office (2006-2012) at ISU.

Dr. Shen’s research interests are in Acoustic Wave Devices, Chemical Sensors, Sensor Systems and Applications. She is now a fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). In 2016, Shen has received the 4th Place Award for Industry-University Collaboration, given by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). In 2015, she has received an Excellence Award for Industry-University Collaboration, given by MOST. In 2013, she was awarded the International Education Faculty Achievement Award, given by International Association of University Presidents. In 2010, she was honored with the Excellent Electrical Engineering Professor Award, given by Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (CIEE). In 2007, she was awarded the Outstanding Electrical Engineer Award, given by CIEE. In 1998, she was received with an Excellent Award at Curriculum Project, given by the Ministry of Education. In 1995, she was honored the Youth Award, given by China Youth Corps.
