CPOT interventions include mobilization, exercise, body positioning, breathing control, coughing and airway clearance maneuvers, and manual techniques. Wherever possible and appropriate, CPOT is applied to optimize oxygen transport and to thereby replace, augment, or reduce the need for invasive medical and surgical management including pharmacological agents.
