Laboratory of Instrument Analysis
The laboratory is the characteristic laboratory of the Department of Nutrition, which was established on the 9th floor of Teaching Building B, Medical Campus in 2007. The space of this lab is 158-meter square and equipped inside with 6 benches for setting shared equipment and 5 two-sided benches for student’s experiment classes. Each side of the benches can be arranged for 6 students; therefore, it allows 60 students to perform experiments at the same time. Now it is used for experiment courses in Food Hygiene and Safety, Food Analysis and Examination, Enzymology, and Food Microbiology.
A lot of common devices are available in the laboratory, including Electric analytical balances, Hot-plate stirrers, Microwave machine, Electric oven, water bath Centrifuge, Vortex mixer, Degas filter, Micropipettes. In addition, there are many professional instruments, including Spectrophotometer, Circular water bath, Low-temperature centrifuge, Polymerase-chain reaction machine, Cell-disruption sonicator, Protein electrophoresis apparatus, Horizontal mini-electrophoresis apparatus, Electrophoresis image recorder, ELISA reader, HPLC, Rotary evaporator, Laminar flow, General microscope, CO2 incubator, -20℃ Freezer and 4℃ Refrigerator, etc. The purpose of this laboratory is to provide a good environment for students to learn research skills and be able to operate all the equipment by themselves in experiment courses to achieve the best learning efforts.
