History


The Department of Medical Laboratory Science under the College of Medicine of I-Shou University was established in 2017 with the approval of the Ministry of Education of Taiwan. The original teaching objective of our department was to train competent medical technologists in a clinical laboratory and medical research laboratory.



Curriculum planning


The curriculums are divided into four stages, including basic science, basic medicine, clinical subjects and clinical practice. The teaching purpose of the department is to cultivate international personnel with medical experimental skills. The curriculum plan is extensive and diverse. We provide professional curriculums to strengthen the national medical examination. Yi Da medical system has a number of hospital inspecting departments to provide several clinical internship courses with theory and practice. We also provide internship curriculums to corporations from Taiwan and other countries during winter and summer vacations.



Graduation


The graduates of the department can participate in domestic and international specialized technical examinations. After passing the examination, you will be able to obtain a medical examiner's license and work in clinical fields. If you want to be a medical examiner, you can work in the hospital medical examination units, medical testing labs, Health centers, blood donation centers and the units in the Ministry of Health and Welfare. After several rigorous training processes, the graduates with experimental techniques are able to operate a variety of biomedical-related laboratory works, such as the identification of units, environmental testing agencies, teaching and research units, biotechnology industry and medical equipment manufacturers, etc. If you continue to pursue further degrees, you could choose to study abroad or at domestic graduate institutes or postgraduate medical departments. As a result, the graduates of the department will have excellent opportunities to find good jobs or pursue further degrees in the future.
