The English Writing and Composition placement test for Spring 2024

Dear Spring Freshmen,

My name is Samantha, the secretary of the Dean’s Office of the International College. I am writing about the placement test for the English Writing and Composition class. To place you in the correct course, please refer to the following directions and take the online test. We would like everyone to complete the test by the due date, so we can have you placed in the appropriate class for Week 1 of the semester.

2. Score submission: When you finish the test, please screenshot your score including your student ID number and name, and send it to Dr. Kimberly Heeren at kdheeren@isu.edu.tw.
3. Deadline for submission: February 17, 2024
4. If you have a TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS certificate, you could send that in place of the online test score.

If your TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS score is high enough, you can submit a request for an exemption from the reading or writing class. If you achieved an overall band score of 6+ and Writing of 6+ on IELTS on IELTS or an overall band score of 87+ and writing 21+ on TOEFL iBT, you can opt out of the writing class.

If this is the case, you can follow the directions below to request the exemption.
