ISU Students Recognized at Eye Taiwan Short Film Competition.


Held by the Mainland Affairs Council, the 4th Eye Taiwan Short Film Competition has just announced the winners, and two short films produced by students of the Department of Mass Communication outshone 121 competitors and received honorable mentions, which was inspiring news to both students and faculty members.

ISU Works with Youth Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government for Future Young Entrepreneurs.


In addition to providing students with interdisciplinary learning opportunities to improve their competitiveness in the workplace, ISU collaborated with the Youth Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government and local industries on holding an achievement exhibition where students displayed their creative designs and alumni shared their experience in starting up businesses.

ISU Students Become Course Designers for Self-learning.


Since Academic Year 2020, ISU has introduced self-learning credits to students, encouraging students to design courses with activities and knowledge they are interested in. Meanwhile, ISU offers a required general education course “Unraveling the Mystery of Health” by integrating healthcare and intelligent technology, and students from different departments and colleges may learn together.

ISU Wins Gold and Silver Prizes at 2021 Green Ideas Invention and Design Fair.


Faculty members and students of the Department of Electrical Engineering competed with 173 teams from six countries at the 2021 Green Ideas Invention and Design Fair, bringing home one gold prize and one silver prize with an intelligent eye exam system and an intelligent face mask detector.

ISU Brings Eastern Mythic Beasts to Life.


Through the industry-university collaboration with Shcmyth, the College of Communication and Design tries to bring mythic beasts from the Classic of Mountains and Seas to life with videos, AR/VR games, the metaverse, cultural and creative products, and artistic saloons.

ISU Recognized by the Ministry of Education for Its Bilingual Education.


The Program on Bilingual Education for Students in College launched by the Ministry of Education handpicked 25 universities and 41 colleges for further cultivation of bilingual education, and the International College and the College of Medicine of ISU are among the list. On top of that, ISU is one of the 12 universities nationwide and the only comprehensive university in southern Taiwan that has two colleges handpicked by the Program.

ISU Indigenous Students Reproduce Dahun Event.


Students of the Bachelor’s Degree Program for Indigenous Peoples in Communication and Design won the gold award at the 7th MATA Award with a non-documentary film adapting the Dahun Event, where the Bunun people fought against Japanese policemen. Another film “Sino Ngaran Mo,” documenting the gradually-disappearing cultural landscape in Orchid Island, won the bronze award.

ISU Brings Robots to LiouGuei Primary School for Digital Tutoring Program.


ISU has carried out the Digital Tutoring Program since 2009 and recruited and trained students to be learning partners. Every semester almost a hundred students from different colleges and departments are attracted to take part in volunteer training.

ISU Students Promote Nutrition Education with Board Game.


Students of the Department of Nutrition have been dedicated to promoting nutrition education in elementary schools and junior high schools for years by introducing the straightforward and diverse design of “My Plate” to different nutrition education activities. Having been subsidized by the University Social Responsibility Projects of the Ministry of Education in 2020, a brand-new board game was developed for further promotion.
